Cinderella Ball to welcome Miss Alabama next week
The Cinderella Ball will be welcoming Miss Alabama, Callie Walker, during the event Monday. The event will be taking place at the Hartselle First Assembly of God from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration for the event is open through Thursday and can be completed by contacting the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce.
This year will be the second year for the ball. It was created to give fathers and daughters a night to dress up and have fun together. Andrea Owensby is the president of the chamber, and said having Walker will add to the fun atmosphere. “We thought having a positive female role model would be an added aspect to the event,” Owensby said.
Walker will be introducing the girls during a lead out, and will be available for autographs. The girls are encouraged to dress up or like their favorite princess, and each girl will receive a tiara. “It is a memory maker, it is something for fathers to be able to take their princesses out for a night,” Owensby said.
The ball will have food, dancing and an appearance from Cinderella for photos. Kathy Summerford from It’s Your Day is helping to decorate and plan the event. “Every little girl dreams of being a princess and who better to be their Prince Charming than their dad,” Summerford said.
According to Summerford, they are planning to make this event larger than last year with more decorations and activities for the girls. “We are just trying to make a magical night for young girls and their fathers,” she said.
The event is $50 per father daughter couple, and includes the activities and food. There is no age limit to attend. Registration forms can be picked up at the Chamber, or can be reserved over the phone.
