The Priceville High School Marching band recently competed at the Southern Hospitality Marching Festival on Saturday, October 6.

Priceville Band Director Nancy Firth said the talent this year is clearly displayed both through their weekly performances and that at the recent competition.

“I am super excited about this year; these kids are such talented, hard working, dedicated kids,” Firth said. “We are also competing at Muscle Shoals this week and I expect great things.”

The Pride of Priceville Marching Band received all superior ratings in all areas at the Southern Hospitality Marching Festival in Hartselle.  They also received Best in Class Drum Major, Best in Class Majorettes, and Best in Class Band.

The POP were awarded the Challenge Cup for the second year running for best overall band score including percussion.

“The PHS Band also went to the Northwest Alabama Marching Classic in Russellville,” Firth said. “We received Superior Ratings in Band, Percussion, Majorette, Color Guard and Drum Major. We compete this weekend at the Tennessee Valley Invitational at Muscle Shoals. We are super excited to compete. This band has a great time performing. Cameron Hall, the POP Drum Major, is just such a musical, dynamic person. He is doing a great job. He won Best in Class Drum Major at Hartselle. He plans on pursuing a degree in Music at the University of North Alabama.”
