Morgan County schools announce delays due to inclement weather

Hartselle City on normal schedule

Morgan County schools will delay bus routes and school start times by two hours tomorrow morning due to the threat of inclement weather.

A phone message to parents and guardians of Morgan County School students went out at 4:30 p.m. notifying them of the delay.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, the onset of storms beginning as early as this evening includes the potential for wind, tornadoes and hail. Locations west of I-65 have the highest potential for tornadoes.

Hartselle City School superintendent Dr. Dee Dee Jones said Hartselle City Schools is aware of the area delays but is currently

“At this time, we will have a normal schedule for Nov. 6,” Jones wrote in a weather announcement. “We are monitoring the threat of inclement weather. If necessary, we will announce any changes

by 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.”

Hartselle High School will be open tonight as a storm shelter in the event of a Tornado Watch or Warning. Pets that are in crates or kennels are welcome.
