Brief wintry mix possible Wednesday night, Thursday morning
According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, a weather system in Texas will move east-northeast into the mid-South and lower Tennessee Valley late tonight into Wednesday, exiting the region Thursday.
An area of precipitation will lift northward late tonight reaching areas south of the Tennessee River after 6 a.m. This area will overspread the rest of north Alabama and southern Tennessee by late Wednesday morning. Temperatures may be just cold enough to support a very brief wintry mix (an hour or less) at the onset of the rainfall. However, due to warm ground/surface temperatures and the short duration, no accumulations or impacts are expected in north Alabama or southern middle Tennessee.
At the end of the rainfall event late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, a brief wintry mix in could occur.
