Community celebrates new apartment complex in Hartselle
The River’s Edge Apartment complex celebrated its official opening with a ribbon cutting Dec. 4. The new 48 unit apartment complex welcomed community members and city officials for the celebration.
Randy Fleece is a representative from Gateway Management Company that manages the properties, and was the keynote speaker during the event. “We have a 4.3 million dollar investment into the Hartselle community…All of that generates property taxes that come back into the Hartselle Community and that is a fantastic thing,” he said.
Randy Garrison, mayor of Hartselle, echoed that sentiment saying the properties were something the city has been working towards for several years now. “I just want to say that we are happy that yall are here. This is a part of a facility that we have been hoping to have development at for a number of years and we appreciate yall. We look for good days ahead,” he said.
Fleece said the property is the first new apartment complex in Hartselle in some time, and that he expected the new housing to have a positive impact on the community. “It will provide new housing that people will rush to, and it stimulates the economy by providing additional housing for consumers as well as property taxes going to the city,” Fleece said.
Andrea Owensby is the president of the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, and said the chamber is excited to welcome the new complex to the area. “We want to welcome you to Hartselle. Hartselle is a great community to live in so I have no doubt that you will have these 48 units filled in no time,” Owensby said.
The apartments were completed prior to their December 31 due date, and still have some vacancies. Fleece said individuals can apply by visiting the office. The complex is also looking to hire a maintenance person, and can be contacted at 256-792-2800 for more information.
