The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church sponsor several community ministries.
One of those ministries is Meals & More Ministry: delivering meals to shut-ins. If you would like to help with this ministry, please contact Rod Gillott at 256-612-3077.
The church has a food pantry the provides non-perishable food and canned items like tuna, peanut butter, dried beans, etc., for those who need it. For its Clothes Closet, donations of clean, gently-used clothes, shoes, coats and other items would be appreciated. At the Sav-A-Life Pregnancy Resource Center, donations of blankets, diapers, wipes, formula, bottles and clothing for newborn to age 3 would be greatly appreciated.
The church also collects and donates nursing supplies for Danville schools. Donations of bandages, finger splints and other items are appreciated.
Community needs the church serves includes wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and other items. For its Homeless Outreach the church seeks non-perishable food, warm socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes and other items. There is a box in the church foyer by the glass doors to place these items in, and Carden Roden will be handing these items out from her car in the Birmingham area.

Corinth West Baptist February Activities
The Rev. Glenn Miller conducted the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at Corinth West Baptist Church at the close of the morning worship Feb. 3.
Patti Condo provided beverages, and Dana Henslee served breakfast, to the Baptist Men’s Club at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall. The men take care of winter maintenance and also plan for some of the spring clean-up activities. The fellowship hall will be made ready for the Senior Citizens Day activities Feb. 19.
The Baptist Women’s group met in the adult Sunday school classroom Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. Jessie Emerson presided, and Donna Smithson gave the devotional and also led the prayer for those who are sick and afflicted. Patricia Echols, GayNell Wilhite and Anita Reid conducted the program on love.
Corinth West Baptist Church hosted Senior Citizens Day activities Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. Patricia Echols, GayNell Wilhite and Anita Reid conducted the program on love and also were in charge of the meal and the bingo games. Members and visitors enjoyed the wonderful meal. The bingo games were called by Felicia Cooke. Visitors for the day’s activities included Emeus Baptist Bible Study group from Logan and deputies from the county office.
Area residents who are sick and the shut-ins received meals delivered by Kim Shedd and David Shedd.
Anita Reid is in charge of the bingo prizes and expresses her appreciation to those who donate money and prizes.
The next Senior Citizens Day will be March 19 at 11 a.m.
Falkville Town Hall Events
Falkville employees were recognized recently at the Falkville town hall meeting. Those being recognized for their years of service included Jenny Asherbranner, Falkville Public librarian, who was honored for 11 years of service; Connie Thompson, municipal court magistrate, who was

honored for her eight years of service; and Darrell Childers, Falkville policeman, who was honored for one year of service. The council expressed appreciation to these employees and presented them with their certificates.
The Falkville town monthly newsletter listed mayors from 1914 to the present – current Mayor Ken Winkles, from 2016. The theme article was about love and questions to ask different ages about love. Where do our favorite love stories originate?

Everyone is invited to go by the public library and check out a love story or film, and Jenny Asherbranner will be there to assist you.
McKendree United Methodist Church News
During the morning worship service at McKendree United Methodist Church, the Rev. Darrell Mosely chose Isaiah chapter 1, “Stand Up For Your Convictions,” for his message. He expressed appreciation for members enjoying his selections of historic hymns “Love Divine,” “There’s Within My Heart A Melody,” “His Name Is Wonderful” and “Trust and Obey.”

The pastor and members were proud to welcome back Keith Abercrombie and appreciate Keith taking care of publicity for their church events.
Tom Summerford is music director, and Tina Summerford is the pianist.
The Annie Orr Class teacher is Carolyn Besnyl, and the Flora Aycock Class teacher is Rhona Summerford.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Sunday School classes at 9:45 a.m. and the worship service at 10:45 a.m. The Wednesday night potluck supper is at 6:30 p.m., and Bible study is at 7:15 p.m. The Ash Wednesday events will be March 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bridge Center.
