Police: Falkville man arrested at Capitol building during riots

A Falkville man was among those arrested during protests at the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. earlier this week.  

Police say Lonnie Coffman, 70, was charged with carrying a pistol without a license, which is a felony in D.C. He is also charged with having an unregistered firearm and having unregistered ammunition.  

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office has no history with anyone named Lonnie Coffman, PIO Mike Swafford said in an email after the agency received multiple inquiries about the arrested Morgan County man.  

Authorities have released no other information about the arrests made.
