Five-RBI day for Graham Ellis leads Tigers past Corner

Five runs batted in from Graham Ellis helped lead the Hartselle Tigers past Corner 19-9 Tuesday. Ellis drove in runs on a home run in the third and a double in the sixth.
Corner scored seven runs in the third inning, but the Tigers still managed to pull out the victory.
The offensive firepower by Corner was led by Norris, Brown, Daniel, Freeman, Cannon and Norris, all driving in runs in the frame.
The Tigers opened up scoring in the first inning. Peyton Steele singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Hartselle pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning.
In the third, Glavine Segars doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and Ellis homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.
Drew Cartee earned the win for the Tigers. Cartee allowed one hit and two runs over two and a third innings, striking out six and walking one.
William Turner threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Cannon took the loss for Corner, surrendering six runs on five hits over two innings.
Eli Snelson started the game for Hartselle. The pitcher allowed five hits and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four.
Hartselle socked two home runs on the day. Ellis went for the long ball in the third inning, while Blaze Gillespie had a long ball in the fourth inning.
The Tigers collected 16 hits on the day. Elliott Bray, Jo Jo Williamson, Gillespie, Steele, Coleman Mizell, and Ellis all managed multiple hits for the Tigers.
Bray went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the home team in hits. Hartselle tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Cartee led the way with two.
