Lady Tigers finish the week 4-3 following the Morgan County Tournament
The Hartselle Lady Tigers finished the week 4-3 after falling in bracket play at the Morgan County Tournament. The week started with an area loss on the road at Muscle Shoals.
Muscle Shoals 9, Hartselle 1
The Lady Trojans scored seven in the bottom of the fourth to pull away from Hartselle for the area win. Larissa Preuitt had two hits to lead the Lady Tigers. Emily Hall had a hit and an RBI. The loss drops Hartselle to 2-2 in area play.
Morgan County Tournament – Pool Play
Hartselle 11, Brewer 0
Zoey Crawford allowed one hit and struck out three Lady Patriots to lead Hartselle to the 11-0 victory to open pool play. Karsi Lentz finished 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Lillyanna Cartee was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Larissa Preuitt had two hits and three runs scored.
Hartselle 6, West Morgan 5
The Lady Tigers scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-4 lead after trailing 4-1. Kaelyn Jones and Cartee each had two hits for Hartselle. Cartee and Lentz each had two RBIs, while Preuitt has one.
Morgan County Tournament – Bracket Play
Falkville 7, Hartselle 6
Falkville jumped out in front 7-0 after two innings and held off a hard-charging Lady Tigers team to win 7-6. Preuitt was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored to lead Hartselle. Jones scored two runs, while Cartee and Henderson each scored a run.
Hartselle 13, Decatur Heritage 0
Crawford and Baylie Sparkman combined for a no-hitter against Decatur Heritage. Crawford and Sparkman each struck out three Lady Eagle batters. Preuitt, Cartee, Henderson, and Lentz each went 2-for-2. Henderson had three RBIs, while Cartee and Lentz each had two RBIs.
Hartselle 4, Brewer 3
The Lady Tigers battled from behind to defeat the Lady Patriots and stay alive in the Morgan County Tournament. Trailing 2-0, Hartselle scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to grab the lead. Jones, Henderson, and Emma Ferguson each had a hit. Ferguson had an RBI. Henderson, Lentz, Brantley Drake, and Emily Hall each scored a run.
Danville 3, Hartselle 2
The Tigers were held to three hits by Danville’s Blayne Godfrey as they were eliminated by the Lady Hawks. Jones and Henderson each had a hit and an RBI for the Lady Tigers. Jones and Ella Pike each scored for Hartselle.
