Digital signs offer new outlet for communication at Hartselle City Schools
Full-color digital signs were recently installed outside Hartselle City Schools and the central office thanks to an education technology appropriation given to the school district by the state.
With these new signs, HCS aims to increase involvement by keeping parents up to date on upcoming events, CSFO Bradley Colburn explained.
As an added benefit, individual schools will be able to update the signs from their respective locations.
“The school can control what is broadcast on the boards, but if we ever have some sort of emergency or notification that needs to come out from the central office, we can override that,” Colburn said.
Lockdowns and tornado warnings are among the types of warnings that might be broadcasted on the signs.
