Florence man arrested in Hartselle faces drug trafficking charge

Agents with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit ended an investigation into a methamphetamine distributor in the Hartselle area June 2.
Dakota Quintorrian Long, 23, of Florence, was arrested and charged with trafficking charges.
According to the MCSO, Long was a fugitive from justice after fleeing from deputies on an active arrest warrant for trafficking in methamphetamine.
Agents determined Long’s whereabouts and obtained and executed a search warrant on Long’s room at the Red Roof Inn in Hartselle, according to the sheriff’s office. The subsequent search revealed 5.2 ounces of methamphetamine, one handgun and $820.
Long was arrested on two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and placed in the Morgan County Jail with a $20,000 bond.
