MCSO acquires new tasers

Special to the Enquirer

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office recently received several new tasers thanks to funds secured by Scott Stadthagen, state representative District 9.

Research shows the use of tasers can save lives and reduce injuries to law enforcement officers, according to the MCSO.

“The first taser conducted energy weapon was introduced in 1993 as a less-lethal force option for police to use to subdue fleeing, belligerent or potentially dangerous people, who would have otherwise been subjected to more lethal force options, such as firearms,” the MCSO said. “We are thankful for Rep. Stadthagen’s continued support of law enforcement.”
