Title: “The Last Thing He Told Me”
Author: Laura Dave
Hannah Hall’s life changes when she answers the door to a little girl in a soccer uniform and a note from Hannah’s husband, Owen, that simply says, “Protect her.” She knows he must be referring to his 16-year-old daughter, Bailey. But why does she need to protect her? And why isn’t Owen answering his phone? When she hears the news report that Owen’s boss has been arrested by the FBI and a U.S. marshal has questions for her, Hannah knows her husband isn’t who he said he is. Bailey, who barely tolerates her stepmother, realizes they must work together to find out what is going on and where her father is. Hannah has to figure out who to trust to keep Bailey safe. This fast-paced family drama will keep you turning pages.
