Hartselle’s Emily Cowart signs with West Alabama softball
Hartselle graduate Emily Cowart recently signed a National Letter of Intent to finish her softball career at the University of West Alabama.
“We are excited to welcome Emily into the Tiger family,” said UWA assistant coach Angel Brown. “She will immediately add power to the line-up.”
Cowart, who graduated in 2019, played for two years at Calhoun Community College. She finished her sophomore season with a .371 batting average along with 56 hits, 38 runs, 42 RBIs, and nine home runs.
She primarily played catcher for the Lady Tigers but saw action at the corners along with catcher at Calhoun.
The University of West Alabama plays in the Gulf South Conference along with UAH, Auburn at Montgomery, and Montevallo.
