Local couple awards collegiate scholarship

Mary Beth Gentle, center, receives the Neal and Brenda Smith IPG Trust scholarship. The Smiths’ Trust awards a local high school senior a collegiate scholarship to Faulkner University in Montgomery. The $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually and selected based on school and community involvement as well as academic achievement. Gentle, a 2021 Hartselle High School graduate, held a 4.25 GPA and will attend Faulkner University this fall, where she will study business. She is the daughter of Chris and Sarah Gentle of Hartselle.
