Tigers’ Steele commits to Alabama baseball
Hartselle’s Peyton Steele, a rising sophomore, announced his commitment to the Alabama baseball program last Friday.
“I am very proud to announce that I will be furthering my academic and baseball career at the University of Alabama,” said Steele. “Thank you to my family for believing in me and pushing me to be the player I am today.”
Steele, who played third base for the Tigers, led the team with a .362 batting average this season as Hartselle advanced to the 6A State Championship series.
The freshman had two games this season where he recorded six RBIs in each game. On March 20th, he had three hits and six RBIs to lead the Tigers past Muscle Shoals 12-1, and two weeks later, his two home runs and six RBIs helped the Tigers defeat Decatur 11-1.
He will be a part of Alabama’s 2024 recruiting class and joins teammate Coleman Mizell as a Tide commitment.
