Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

June 30 agents with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the sheriff’s patrol division, initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Criscoe Road and SE Helms Road in the Union Grove community of Morgan County.
According to the MCSO, upon approach, law enforcement made contact with the driver and the passenger, James Carl Hendrix. During the course of the traffic stop, law enforcement discovered Hendrix was in possession of a quantity of a crystalline substance that later tested positive as methamphetamine, according to investigators.
After conducting field interviews, agents placed Hendrix under arrest for trafficking in methamphetamine and resisting arrest. He was booked in the Morgan County Jail with bond set at $10,300.
