Somerville Public Library names new director

Somerville native James Rogers has been named the director of the Somerville Public Library.
The 24-year-old graduate of UAH studied English and graduated in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree. He Is enrolled at his alma mater, pursuing a Master of Arts in English, which he said he hopes to complete in May 2022.
“I am excited to serve the community more broadly in this capacity,” Rogers announced on the library’s official Facebook page.
James is the son of two Morgan County educators, Paul and Susan Rogers. His mother was a teacher at Cotaco Elementary School for nearly 30 years, and his father served as principal of Lacey’s Spring Elementary School for several years before his retirement.
Rogers is a product of Morgan County Schools himself, having graduated from Brewer High School in 2015.
