Shooting injures Hartselle man
A shooting Monday afternoon has left one Hartselle man injured, and Hartselle police are seeking the shooter.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Simpson Street shortly after 2:30 p.m., according to HPD Lt. Alan McDearmond. The victim, Steven Preuitt, had been shot once in the arm and once in the leg and was transported to Huntsville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
McDearmond said Preuitt is not cooperating with officers at this time and will not name the shooter, but a person of interest has been identified as Jalen Scales, also of Hartselle.
Witnesses said the two had an ongoing feud.
No arrests had been made as of 4 p.m. Monday.
