Local schools host opportunities to meet teams

With football season fast approaching, local schools will have opportunities for fans to meet the players and start getting pumped up to support their teams. 

Hartselle High School is hosting Meet the Tigers Friday at 5 p.m. at JP Cain Stadium.  

The event will include scrimmages: for the seventh grade at 5 p.m., eighth grade at 5:40 p.m., eighth grade versus ninth grade at 6:20 p.m., ninth grade versus JV at 7:20 p.m. and varsity at 8:05 p.m. The teams will be introduced at 6:50 pm. 

Hartselle opens the season Aug. 20 at Austin, beginning at 7 pm. 

Brewer

Brewer High School will host Meet the Patriots Thursday starting at 4 p.m. at Tucker Stadium. Fall sports teams, including volleyball and cross country, will be introduced beginning at 5:50 p.m. The middle school football team will scrimmage at 6:05 p.m., followed by the JV team at 6:40 p.m. and the varsity at 7:15 p.m. The varsity team and staff will be introduced at 8:15 p.m. 

There will be an ice cream social and concert by Brandon Elder starting at 8:30 p.m. 

Admission is $5 for the Meet the Patriots events alone or $10 for the Meet the Patriots, ice cream social and concert. 

Danville

The Hawks will be scrimmaging the St. John Paul II Falcons Friday night at home at 7 p.m. Danville will open the season Aug. 20 at Brewer. 

Falkville

Falkville High School will host Meet the Blue Devils Aug 14 beginning at 6 p.m. The junior high, JV and varsity teams and staff will be introduced. The Blue Devils open the season Aug. 20, as Decatur Heritage comes to visit. 

Priceville

Priceville High School is hosting Meet the Bulldogs Aug. 20 at 7 pm. The event will be held at Bulldogs Stadium, located behind Priceville Elementary.  

This year’s junior high, JV and varsity teams and staff will be introduced.  

The Bulldogs face West Point Aug. 20 in a jamboree game before opening the season Aug. 27 against the visiting Brewer Patriots.
