Eva prepares for Frontier Days
Town of Eva residents are busy preparing for Frontier Days, which will be held Sept. 18-25.
Activities for Frontier Days are as follows:
Beauty Pageant
The beauty pageant will be held Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. at Charlie’s Vineyard, 1684 Frost Road, Eva. The age divisions are Little Tiny Miss, birth to 11 months; Tiny Miss, 1-2 years; Little Miss, 3-4 years; Petite Miss, 5-6 years; Junior Miss, 7-9 years; Preteen Miss, 10-12 years; Teen Miss, 13-15 years; and Miss, 16-18 years. Entry fee is $40 per contestant, and Miss Photogenic fee is $5 per contestant per picture.
The People’s Choice Award for each category, for each contestant, will be $1 per vote.
The deadline for entry is Sept. 16, and no late entries will be accepted the morning of the pageant. Additionally, no pictures for Miss Photogenic will be accepted the morning of the Pageant. All forms and photos must be turned in to Amy Weaver, P.O. Box 177, Eva, AL 35621, by the deadline.

Rodeo
The Eva Frontier Days Rodeo will be held Sept. 17-18. More information will be announced as it becomes available.
Hayride
The hayride will be held Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at 1718 Frost Road, Eva. The charge will be $1 to ride, and riders will get a free hotdog and drink at the end of the ride.
Community Singing
The Eva Frontier Days Community Singing will be Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church. This will be an old-fashioned hymn book singing, with lots of fun, fellowship and praising the Lord.
Music On The Square
Eva Frontier Days Music On The Square will be held Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. in downtown Eva.
The Southern Way Band will be playing under the Entertainment Tent. Admission will be free.
The Big Day
Eva Frontier Days will host the following events Sept. 25 to cap off the week’s activities.
—The Arts and Crafts Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Craft booth rent will be $35. Food booth rent will be $50. Vendors must furnish their own tents. Spaces will be approximately 12×12, and no spaces will be changed once assigned.

—The Antique Tractor Show will be staged beside Eva Church of Christ. Registration will be at 9 a.m.
—The Car Show will be in the parking lot of Eva Methodist Church. Registration begins at 9 a.m
—The Frontier Days Parade will be at 11 a.m. in downtown Eva. Anyone who wants to be in the parade should be at the Eva Community Center no later than 10 a.m. Sept. 25. C
—Live entertainment: David Davis and the Warrior River Boys, from Eva, will be the featured live entertainment at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. The group will perform under the main entertainment tent, located at the four- 
—A Pig-calling Contest will be held at 3 p.m., and a Frog Jumping Contest will be at 4 p.m., at the Eva ball fields. Cash prizes will be awarded.
—A Greased Pig Chase will be held at 5 p.m.
