John C. Boger

Funeral service for John C. Boger, 67, was held Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Devin Hudson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Boger died Aug. 14 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born Feb. 17, 1954, in Morgan County to Elmer John Boger and Loree Blackwood Boger. He was a driver for UPS. He was a wonderful husband, son and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Boger, and brother, Don Boger (Lisa).
Pallbearers were Junior Allen, Mike Hatfield, Ben Townsend, Logan Boger, Bernie Sparks and Brad Norris. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Dobbins, Larry Pyle, Larry Cheatham, Roy Vinsant and Danny Wallace.
Glennis Crawley
Hartselle
Funeral service for Glennis Crawley, 75, was held Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lynn Harvel officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in the Old Pitman Cemetery.
Mrs. Crawley died Aug. 14 at her residence. She was born July 2, 1946, in Lincoln County, Tennessee. She was employed by Kinder-Morgan Company as an accountant and secretary prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Tunsel Road Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She also was a Cub Scout Den Leader and enjoyed Alabama football.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Buck and Roberta Slaughter, and a sister, Doris Kanuck.
Survivors include her husband, Horace Crawley; sons, Kevin Crawley (Stephanie) and Michael Crawley (Sabrina); brothers, Jerry Mooney and Jimmy Slaughter; and grandchildren, James Edde, Branningan Edde, Conner Crawley, Brandon Crawley and Patrick Crawley.
Pallbearers were Howard Crawley, Brandon Crawley, James Edde, Artie Dutton, Dan Mackey and Matt Briggs. Honorary pallbearers were Conner Crawley and Patrick Crawley.
Albert J. Sandor Sr.
Hartselle
Funeral service for Albert J. Sandor Sr., 92, was held Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Sutton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Sandor died Aug. 16 at his residence. He was born May 31, 1929, in Ohio to Paul Sandor and Mary Sandor. He was employed as the senior field engineer for IBM Company prior to his retirement. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 60 years, Billie R. Sandor; his parents; brothers, Bill Sandor and Ed Sandor; and a grandson, Jeffrey Michael Sandor.
Survivors include his sons, John Sandor (Cindy), Huntsville, Paul Sandor (Michelle), Buford, Ga., Pat Sandor (Liz), Marietta, Ga., Michael Sandor (Melissa), Hartselle, and David Sandor (Melinda), Plano, Texas; daughter, Susan Sandor (Robert), Dahlonega, Ga.; sisters, Dorothy Bremer, Lorain, Ohio, and Betty Lapos, Avon Lake, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family and friends.

Carolyn Doyle Whitlow

A graveside funeral service and interment for Carolyn Faye Doyle Whitlow, 83, was held Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. at McKendree Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Ms. Whitlow died Aug. 15 at her residence. She was born Nov. 5, 1937, in Morgan County to Thomas Doyle and Birdie Sandlin Doyle. She was employed as the retail sales manager of Standard Furniture in Hartselle for several years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Ricky Whitlow (Tammy), Danville, and Chris Whitlow (Ann), Hartselle; grandchildren, Joey Whitlow, Brian Whitlow, Summer Whitlow Kirby and Emily Whitlow; great-grandchildren, Jensen Whitlow and Coleson James Whitlow; and sisters, Helen Adair and Linda Crow.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
Mark Allen Nicholson
Hartselle
Funeral service for Mark Allen Nicholson, 54, was held Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the chaplain from the American Legion officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was
in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Nicholson passed away Aug. 19. He was born Jan. 23, 1967, in Wisconsin to Dan and Valerie Murphy Nicholson. He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1986-1989, and was a member of the American Legion Honor Guard, as a past vice commander. He loved his 1st Special Forces — 1st Group Airborne.
Mr. Nicholson was a maintenance planner for Decatur Energy Center – Capital Power prior to his passing.
He was the best husband in the whole world, a loving father and an amazing grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Vierra Nicholson; parents, Dan and Valerie Murphy Nicholson; sons, Jacob Nicholson (Danielle) and Levi Nicholson (Abby); daughter, Holly Harper (Derek); brothers, Keith Nicholson (Janet) and Scott Nicholson; and grandchildren, Eric Nicholson, Faith Nicholson, Micah Nicholson and Ella Nicholson.
Pallbearers were Robert Blair, Chris McMains, Jacob Nicholson, Levi Nicholson, Derek Harper, Ethan Rose, Keith Nicholson and Scott NIcholson.
Roger-Young Young
Decatur
A graveside funeral service and interment for Roger-Young Young, 65, was held Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at New Hope North Cemetery, with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Young died Aug. 20 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1956, in Cullman County to Dwight James Young and Nellie Katherine Holmes.
Mr. Young was a wonderful husband and a great father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, cooking for his family and friends, spending time with his brothers and making people laugh.
He was employed by Cerrowire in the maintenance department prior to his passing.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Charles and Kenny Young.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Young; sons, Shane Young (Stephanie) and Justin Ball (Trish); daughters, Cassy Littrell and Bea Smith (Berry); brothers, Mark Young (Beth) and Mike Young (Kim); in-laws, Don and Della Veerman; grandchildren, Adriana, Adam, Hanna (Patrick), Mason, Landon and Lawson; and great-grandchildren, Dawson, Jackson and Reese.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
Jim “Jamie” England
Hartselle
Funeral service for Jim “Jamie” England, 48, will be Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Rob Jackson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. His body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. England passed away at his residence surrounded by his loved ones Aug. 19 after a valiant 13-month fight with brain cancer.
He was born April 24, 1973, in Morgan County to Carl Howard England and JoAnn Ashford England. He graduated from Austin High School in 1991.
He served his country for four years in the United States Marine Corps as a tow crewman and an embassy guard in Lisbon, Portugal, and Amman, Jordan. He started his law enforcement career as a dispatcher for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. He went on to become a patrol deputy and later was the sergeant over the Morgan County Drug Task Force.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
Jim continued his career in law enforcement and was employed with the Department of Justice as a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration prior to his passing.
He was a wonderful husband and father.
Jim enjoyed watching Auburn football and coaching his sons in youth football and baseball. He was a great role model and mentor to all he coached.
His love for God was shown daily in his life. Those who knew him remember his incredible sense of humor. He always found the good in everyone and every situation. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and served on the security team.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his grandparents, Genopha and Jim Ashford.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Shepard England; sons James “Karl” England Jr., Ethan England and Jake England; aunts Joyce Jenkins (Carlton) and Judy Borden (Joe); and many cousins.
Pallbearers will be Todd Pinion, Lyle Moore, Tennille Kinsey, Justin Barley, Pete Gruden, Zackory Dockery, Mike McCoy and Shannon Ferguson.

David Bradley Cobb

Funeral service for David Bradley Cobb, 34, was held Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Smith and Bro. Stephen Payne officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in
Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Cobb passed away Aug. 20 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
He was born June 12, 1987, in Morgan County to James Douglas Cobb and Connie Wilson Hill (Tommie). He was a proud soldier serving in the U.S. Army during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was studying automotive technology at Calhoun Community College at the time of his passing.
Survivors include his mother, Connie Wilson Hill (Tommie); brothers, Johnny Cobb (Marti), Wesley Cobb (Emmaline Fenner) and Jonathan Hill (Kristen); and nieces and nephews, Mackenzie Cobb, Colby Ricks, Zelda Cobb and Addison Hill.
Pallbearers were Michael Cobb, Colby Ricks, Johnny Cobb, Amanda Thompson, Jackie Wilson and Jonathan Hill.
Cynthia Slater Wilson
Somerville
A graveside funeral service and interment for Cynthia Slater Wilson, 57, was held Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Frankie Flack officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Wilson died Aug. 21 at her residence. She was born Oct. 9, 1963, in Madison County to Olin D. Slater and Patsy Ann Hicks Slater. She was a homemaker for her family. She loved her family, especially her grandson and nieces, dearly.
She was a graduate of Brewer High School, enjoyed Alabama football and loved her fur babies.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Carlton L. Wilson; son, Christopher L. Slater; grandson, Brody Olin Slater; sister, Cathy M. Slater Johnson (Jeff); and nieces, Abby and Chloe Johnson.
Pallbearers were Jerry Moon, Hayden Moon, Donavan Moon, Jason Moon, Ronnie Frasier and Don Layton.
