John Mark Lindsey

Graveside service for John Mark Lindsey, 68, was held Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. John Lindsey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No public visitation was scheduled.
Mark passed away Oct. 12 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1953, in Morgan County to George W. Lindsey and Elizabeth Ann Beck Lindsey.
Mark graduated from Danville High School and attended Calhoun Community College. He loved playing baseball in high school and college. He loved raising quarter horses.
He was a crane operator for Wolverine Tube and for Freight Management until retirement in 2015.
Mark was a beloved father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two daughters, Emily Ann Graves (Dustin) and Jenna Marie White (Matthew); three brothers, Ray Lindsey (Marty), Kenneth Lindsey and David Lindsey (Robin); three grandchildren, Grace Ann Graves, Kaylee Ann Graves and Aidan Matthew White; three nephews; two nieces; and one great-nephew.
Dan Copeland
Hartselle
Funeral service for Dan Copeland, 51, of Hartselle was held Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. at Tunsel Road Baptist Church. Southeast Division Marine Corps League Chaplain John Burks, Lance Cpl. Jonathan L. Smith Detachment Chaplain Ron Kessler and Pastor Brad Houchin officiated. Burial was in the Hartselle Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. Peck Funeral Home directed.
Dan, who died Oct. 13 at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born Feb. 28, 1970, in Hartselle to J.T. Copeland and Brenda McKinney Copeland, who preceded him in death.
Dan was a 1988 graduate of Hartselle High School and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He owned and operated Copeland’s Classic Cleaners in Hartselle and Decatur. He loved his Marine family and was a charter member of the Lance Cpl. Jonathan L. Smith Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He was an avid Auburn Tiger fan, loved kayaking and camping, was a true jokester and never met a stranger. Dan was affectionately known as “Dan Dan the Cleaning Man.”
He is survived by his wife, Susan Copeland; three sons, Brent Copeland, Josh Sartin and Matthew Sartin (Hailey); a daughter, Kayla Sartin; and two sisters, Rhonda Legg (Steve) and Sondra Dutton (Artie).
Gus Slater, Lee Greene, Joseph Comeau, Van Graham, Rickey Terry and Dale Griffith served as pallbearers.
Darlene Bolan Lanford
Hartselle
Funeral service for Darlene Bolan Lanford, 76, of Hartselle, was held Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Harlin Smith officiating. Burial followed at Aldridge Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Lanford died Oct. 13 at her residence. She was born Sept. 13, 1945, in Pennsylvania to Arnold S. Bolan and Charlotte Hall Bolan.
Mrs. Lanford was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Lanford.
Survivors Include one son, Danny Anders (Tammy); one daughter, Lisa Sparkman (Boyd); two brothers, David Bolan (Sue) and Sonny Arnold Bolan (Sherrie); one sister, Debby Bolan Lentz; seven grandchildren, Josh Anders (Kristina), Hannah Odem (Casey), Kendra Sullians (Kyle), Justin Grimmett (Elizabeth), Jada Robinson, Casey Mitchell (Wes) and Kristen Sparkman (Bo); 13 great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Andy Lanford, Linny Lanford and Jamie Lanford; and two stepdaughters, Deborah Chunn and Marty Packard.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
Alfred Long

Graveside service for Alfred Long, 84, was held Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m. at Rogersville Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Long died Oct. 6 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1936, in Cullman County to Douglas Theodore Long and Louise Anna Sachs Long Foust.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one son, Steven Long; four daughters, Michelle Woods (Wes), Kelly Jeffreys (Robert), Nancy Smith (Tracy Maples) and Christie Long (Curtis Goodwin Jr.); one brother, Douglas Long (Suzanne); two sisters, Carrol DeSoto and Martha Everett; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Ruby Murphy

Funeral service for Ruby Murphy, 88, was held Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Hicks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Murphy died Oct. 15 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born May 13, 1933, in Morgan County to Billo and Lucille Smith Wiley.
Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph Murphy, and two sisters, Ruth Hicks and Betty Maddox.
Survivors include one son, Terry Murphy; one brother, Jerald Wiley (Charlotte); one sister, Joy Chunn; two grandchildren, Michele Berry (Shawn) and Angela Trucks (Todd); and four great-grandchildren.
Shawn Berry, Todd Trucks, Barry Murphy, Ricky Tapscott, Donald Wiley and Cade Wiley served as pallbearers.
Thomas Hawkins
Falkville
Graveside service and interment for Thomas Hawkins, 70, of Falkville, was held Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at Roundtop Cemetery. No visitation was scheduled.
Mr. Hawkins died Oct, 16 at his residence. He was born Jan. 16, 1951, in Arkansas to Joseph Hawkins and Margaret Schmidt Hawkins.
Mr. Hawkins was a truck driver prior to his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors Include his companion, Julia Dunbrook; two brothers, Gary Hawkins (Donna) and Jay Hawkins (Sharon); and three sisters, Joyce Taylor, Toni White and Mary Geeslin (Michael).
Avernell Stinson

Graveside service and interment for Avernell Stinson, 94, of Eva, was held Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. at Cook Cemetery with Bro. Tony Moses officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Stinson died Oct. 16 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 14, 1927, in Morgan County to Leonard Davenport and Martha Jane Lawrence Davenport.
Mrs. Stinson worked in retail prior to her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Melvin Stinson; two brothers, Aubrey Davenport and Dewaugh Davenport; and a granddaughter, Erica Holmes.
Survivors Include two daughters, Marcella Holmes and Brenda Shoeybipour (Karim); one brother, Clifton Davenport; four grandchildren, Nathan Holmes, Devin Holmes, Mia Terry and Ashley Speer (Clay); and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Kelley, Oliver Speer and Channing Speer.
Pallbearers were Nathan Holmes, Clay Speer, Kevin Bailey, Calvin Keisler, Jason Holmes and Joel Holmes.
Gerry Duane Williams
Hartselle
Memorial service for Gerry Duane Williams, 60, will be at Union Hill Cemetery Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. with Van Green officiating and Peck Funeral Home assisting the family.
Mr. Williams died July 15, 2018, at his residence. He was born Aug. 17, 1957, in Mt. Clemons, Michigan, to Gerald Dean Williams and Loretta Lesnak Williams.
Mr. Williams graduated from Clinton Dale High School in Clintondale, Michigan. He was an engineer at RCO and designed seats for motor homes.
Gerry loved living on his houseboat and loved to bowl and fish. He was a Christian man and was a father to several children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shelia Williams.
Kenneth Yarbrough

Funeral service for Kenneth Yarbrough, 63, of Falkville was held Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Randy Ashley officiating. Burial was in the Lebanon Baptist Church cemetery. Peck Funeral Home directed.
Mr. Yarbrough, who was born May 22, 1958, in Cullman County to Ellis Ned Yarbrough and Mary Idell Casey, died Oct. 16 at his home. He was a coordinator with Asplundh Tree Expert and a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beverly Stargel.
He is survived by his wife, Tonia Yarbrough; a son, Cougar Yarbrough (Shae); five daughters, Lashonda Yarbrough, Ashley Green (Garth), Andrea Crow (Tony), Tara Moses (Zack) and Sara Tucker; two brothers, Stanley Yarbrough and Gary Yarbrough; four sisters, Kathy Taylor (Cecil), Susan Thrasher (Lance), Cindy Yarbrough and Joy Taylor (Rodney); 14 grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Wayne Yarbrough, Christopher Taylor, Stetson Taylor, Zack Moses, Tony Crow and Garth Green served as pallbearers.
Sarah Myrtle Powell Blevins

Graveside service for Sarah Myrtle Powell Blevins, 88, of Hartselle was held Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Corinth West Cemetery at Battleground. Peck Funeral Home directed.
Mrs. Blevins, who was born March 15, 1933, in Cullman County to Emmett Thomas Powell and Thelma Angle Powell, died Oct. 16 at her residence. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband, Max D. Blevins.
She is survived by her son, Terry Blevins (Marie); two daughters, Jerri Hyatt (Junior) and Sherry Anders (Steve); three grandchildren, Bradley Hyatt (Kellie), Kerry Blevins and Barton Hyatt (Jackie); and four great-grandchildren, Marshall, McKinley, Joey and Barry Hyatt.
Stephanie K. Eddy Burroughs
Vinemont
Stephanie K. Eddy Burroughs, 58, of Vinemont passed away Oct. 15 at her home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1963, in Roanoke, Virginia, to parents Arnold and Eva Eddy. She was a 1981 graduate of Hartselle High School. She was also a graduate of the University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
She worked as a regional manager for Lerner’s Department Stores and as co-owner and comptroller of Top to Bottom Tree Service before retiring to raise her children. She was also an active volunteer with R.I.S.E. Program at the University of Alabama.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Jessica Burroughs of Gordo and Hannah Burroughs of Gordo; siblings, Susan Kinney (Dan) of McCalla, David Eddy (Tammy) of Hartselle and Steven Eddy (Glynda) of Vinemont; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service was held Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. at Rescue Cemetery at Union Grove.
Joseph Kinney, Jacob Scherzer, Matthew Eddy, Micah Eddy, Nicholas Eddy and Joshua Shannon served as pallbearers. Lewis Allen Bingham and Adam Ray served as honorary pallbearers.
Lorene Tuder Glove
Somerville
Visitation for Lorene Tuder Glover, 75, of Somerville, was held Oct. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home. No other services are scheduled at this time.
Mrs. Glover died Oct. 17 at her residence. She was born Nov. 15, 1945, in Morgan County to Elbert Lann Tuder and Eularve Cook Tuder.
Mrs. Glover worked in the mental health field at the Lurleen B. Wallace Center prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Glover was preceded in death by her parents; her “Momma,” Ollie Houser, who raised her; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Glover; four daughters, Christine Glover (Kenny Russell), Mechelle Glover Davis, Jodie Glover and Tomie Glover; one brother, Doyle Houser; one daughter, Bonnie Cook; eight grandchildren, Tony Whited, Thomas Whited, Amanda Whited, Karteyz Glover, Keanna Glover, Julian Glover, Peyton Davis and Brelynn Glover; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Ballinger, Abbi Whited and Phebe Whited.
Wayne Jones

Mr. Jones was born March 2, 1957. He passed away Oct. 10 at Huntsville Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Hunter Jones (Ashton) and Brandon Jones (Jaclyn); daughter, Mallory Gillette (Ian); brother, Mearl Jones (Janice); two sisters, Patricia Wilson (Tommy) and Mary Williams; and three grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Teagan Jones and Fiona Gillette.
