Hartselle High School will celebrate the football team’s undefeated season and kick off its 6A play-off bid with a bonfire, tailgate and community pep rally Thursday night.
“We are excited to have just completed a perfect regular season,” said Dr. Brad Cooper, HHS principal. “Inviting the community to a pep rally and bonfire builds even more excitement for a first-round play-off game against a great opponent. It feels much bigger than an opening round game.”
The whole community is invited to join the school’s football team, band, cheerleaders and dance team Nov. 4 to cheer on the team, which plays Gardendale High School at home Friday night.
The tailgate begins at 6 p.m., with the bonfire and pep rally set to start at 7 p.m.
This event is free to the public, but food will be available for purchase.
The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce is helping to coordinate the event, which will also feature food trucks, including Brix & Embers and Warehouse Coffee, tailgate games and a s’mores station sponsored by Maegan Jones of MarMac Real Estate.
In case of rain, the pep rally and tailgate will be moved inside to the HHS gymnasium.
The play-off game starts at 7 p.m. Nov. 5, and tickets are available at GoFan.com. Tickets are $10 each, and no sports passes except for those from AHSAA are valid for this event. School officials also remind people there is no reserved seating at the stadium for play-off games. Reserved parking will be honored.
