Habitat for Humanity opens application period
Special to the Enquirer
Starting Nov. 2, those who have dreamed of home ownership can apply to see that dream come true.
Habitat for Humanity’s application period is now open, and prospective homeowners can download and print an application for housing by visiting morganhabitat.org/homeownership or pick up an application packet from the Habitat ReStore, 1123 Central Parkway SW, Decatur, Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Applicants will return their completed applications – along with required documents – at an information class Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. The class explains all the basic requirements of the Habitat homeownership program and allows attendees to ask any questions they might have.
Registration is required. Registration details are in the application packet.
People in the community partner with Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With Habitat’s help, homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
To qualify for a Habitat home, an applicant must live in Morgan County, have a housing need, be able to make monthly house payments and be willing to put in volunteer hours and attend homeowner education classes.
For more information, visit the Habitat website, www.morganhabitat.org, or call 256-340-9609.
Applications will be available Nov. 2-13.
