Police nab reckless driver

Morgan County sheriff’s deputies attempted a traffic stop on a reckless driver on Highway 67 after the vehicle failed to stop and attempted to elude.
The vehicle left the roadway at Mountain Valley Road and Garth Road in Priceville after failing to successfully navigate a 90-degree turn.
Deputies arrested Lorenzo LaJames Davis, 33, of Decatur. He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, attempting to elude a police officer, reckless endangerment, improper lane usage, running a red light, no liability insurance, minimum speed regulation and two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree.
His total bond is set at $4,700.
Somerville Police Department and Priceville Police Department assisted in the pursuit.
