Decatur Heritage names Hartselle alum head football coach
Hartselle graduate Nikita Stover has been named the head football coach at Decatur Heritage Christian Academy.
“From the first time I walked into this place, it just felt like I was at home,” Stover said. “I’m excited about having the opportunity to take the football program to the next level.”
Stover is replacing Steve Meek, who led the Eagles program for 11 seasons. Heritage finished 86-42 under Meek with four region championships and eight consecutive trips to the playoffs.
Stover was a first-team all-state selection for the Tigers before playing for the University of Alabama.
This past season, Stover was the head coach for the DHCA middle school team, leading the young Eagles to a 6-1 record.
