Downtown streets to close, parking blocked for Hartselle Christmas parade
Special to the Enquirer
The 2021 Hartselle Christmas Parade, hosted by the Hartselle Kiwanis Club, will come to town tonight at 7 p.m. and city officials want attendees to come prepared for parking. The theme for the annual parade is “‘Snow Place Like Home.”
No parking will be allowed on Railroad Street from Hickory Street SW to Main Street and on Main Street from Railroad Street SW to Morgan Plaza, starting at 5:30 p.m. today. This is to ensure the safety of those involved in the parade procession as well as spectators.
Several parking lots are available for spectators – including the public lots behind the shops on Main Street, the lot just west of Life Church and the lot behind the old Post Office, accessible from Chestnut Street NW and Sycamore Street NW.
Parking is also available at the Hartselle Farmers Market, as well as at Hartselle First United Methodist Church on Hickory Street. Music will be played prior to the parade at the two gazebos along Main Street – by the Depot and just west of Life Church. A live Nativity will be at First Christian Church off Main Street and Sloss Street SE, from 6-7:30 p.m.
Traffic and parking will reopen following the end of the parade.
