Lady Bulldogs win three of four
The Priceville Lady Bulldogs won three out of four games this past week, with wins over West Point, Brewer and Mae Jemison. Their lone loss came in their matchup against 6A Madison Academy at the TOC/HH Sports Center Showcase at Bob Jones.
Priceville 62, West Point 28
Lauren Hames had 15 points and five rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 34-point victory over the visiting Lady Warriors.
Priceville led 26-12 at halftime and extended the lead to 45-21 by the end of the third.
Zoey Benson added 10 points and six rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs. Lillyan Bloodworth had eight points and six assists, while Gracin Prater and Reagan Watkins each scored seven points. Prater also had six rebounds, seven assists and eight steals, while Watkins had nine rebounds and three blocks.
Priceville 63, Brewer 47
The Lady Bulldogs overcame a first-quarter deficit in their 63-47 win on the road at Brewer this past Thursday. Priceville outscored the Lady Patriots 16-6 in the second to take a 25-19 lead at halftime, and they extended their lead to 42-28 lead heading to the fourth.
Benson had 20 points and six rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Hames had 11 points and four rebounds, while Prater added eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Bloodworth finished with seven points and six assists.
Hope West had 19 points and six rebounds to lead the Lady Patriots. Chloe Romine added 16 points and eight rebounds.
Madison Academy 43, Priceville 36
The Priceville girls suffered their second defeat of the season in a seven-point loss to Madison Academy in a game played at Bob Jones. The Lady Mustangs took a 10-6 first-quarter lead and extended it to 19-12 heading into halftime.
The Lady Bulldogs cut the Madison Academy lead to three points heading into the fourth quarter but would get no closer, as the Lady Mustangs outscored them by four in the fourth to hold on for the win.
Benson, Hames, Watkins and Ashlyn Johnson each scored six points for Priceville. Watkins led the team with seven rebounds, while Prater dished out six assists.
Priceville 68, Mae Jemison 44
The Lady Bulldogs won for the third time in five days when they defeated Mae Jemison 68-44 on the final day of the TOC/HH Sports Center Showcase at Bob Jones Saturday.
The win was Coach Terri Nelson’s 200th as head coach of Priceville.
Lauren Hames led Priceville with 18 points, while Benson and Leslie Hames added 13 points. Benson had six rebounds, and Prater finished with five assists.
