Police arrest Falkville man for theft

March 5 Investigator Tania Burgess arrested Joshua Lyn Riddle, 38, of Falkville, for theft of property, first degree. Riddle was booked into the Morgan County Jail with a $5,000 bond.
According to the Hartselle Police Department, the victim reported the theft of her vehicle, as well as her debit card, to the HPD and identified Riddle as the suspect. According to the victim, she gave Riddle several days to return both items prior to contacting the police.
Burgess was assigned the case and later obtained a surveillance video, which depicted Riddle driving the victim’s vehicle while at the ATM using the victim’s debit card.
Burgess obtained a warrant on Riddle for the first-degree theft. Additional charges regarding this case are pending.
