Hartselle hosts USSSA April Attack

This past Saturday, Hartselle Parks & Rec hosted USSSA’s April Attack at the Grady and Margie Long Softball Complex.

Twenty-one teams battled all day to determine winners of the 8U C and 12U C age groups.

In the 8U bracket, the Phenoms defeated Mojo-2013 by a score of 16-9 in the championship game. In the 12U Gold bracket, Vexus – May defeated the Diamondators Lightning 5-4, while in the 12U Silver bracket, Rippers 2010 defeated Southern Vortex 6-5.

“We are happy to host travel ball tournaments on the weekends,” said Thomas Phillips, sports director for Hartselle Parks & Rec. “We feel the more people that come out to our park for these tournaments creates more opportunities for our community businesses to be visited.”

Teams from across Alabama and southern Tennessee will once again visit Hartselle on April 16 for the Easter Egg Scramble.
