Center Point man arrested in Hartselle

May 3, 2022, Hartselle officers arrested Jonathan Lamar Evans, 37 of Center Point, for attempting to commit a controlled substance crime. Evans’ bond was set at $2,500. 

The arrest was the result of reports made by two local pharmacies regarding fraudulent prescriptions. The suspect possessing the fraudulent prescriptions was described as a black male wearing a multicolored jacket. A short time later, officers were notified that the suspect had arrived at one of the pharmacies and was attempting to retrieve his prescription. Officers arrived and located Evans who was subsequently arrested without incident.
