6U all-stars headed to World Series

The Hartselle Parks & Rec 6U softball all-stars are headed to Gulfport, Miss., to play in the All American Youth Sports Rec All-Star World Series this week.

The team finished second in the AAYS State Tournament two weeks ago in Alexander City.

The girls and their coaches will participate in Wednesday’s opening ceremony and skill events. Then, they will open with two games in pool play on Thursday. The team will advance to bracket play on Friday and Saturday.

This is the third time in the past four years that a 6U All-Star team from Hartselle has advanced to the World Series.
