Hartselle returns to the volleyball state tournament with a runner-up finish in North Super Regional

The Hartselle Lady Tigers punched their ticket to the AHSAA State Championships with a 3-1 performance and runner-up finish in the North Super Regional in Huntsville.

The Lady Tigers picked up wins over Minor (3-0), Buckhorn (3-0) and Oxford (3-1) before falling to No. 1 Mountain Brook (3-0) in the finals.

Jadyn Chesser led Hartselle with 47 kills and 50 digs in four games. Lydia Simmons had 31 kills and 10 digs, while Katie Gillott had 24 kills and nine digs. Kennedy Sheats added 19 kills.

Hartselle (34-23) will be the North No. 2 seed in the state championships. They will open South No. 3 Pelham in the first round. The game is Wednesday at the Crossplex in Birmingham.
