Funeral service for David Clemons, 64, was held Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Smith and Bro. Paul Cheshier officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Mr. Clemons passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at his residence. He was born August 23, 1958, in Morgan County to Willard Hoyt Clemons and Betty Sue Foster Clemons. He was employed by Fite Construction, as a Superintendent, prior to his passing. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a hard worker and loved his children and grandchildren more than life itself and especially loved his wife, who was the love of his life. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include wife, Rita Clemons; mother, Betty Sue Foster Clemons; sons, Justin Clemons and Jeremy Clemons; daughters, Chrissy Clemons and Katie Clemons; brothers, Chris Clemons (Diane) and Alan Bolan (Judy); grandchildren, Adrian Clemons, Andsley Clemons and Brantley Clemons Pallbearers were David May, Noel Foster, Steve Black, Darrel Black, Jason Jones and Randy Putman.

Funeral service for Dianna Kay Steele, 74, was held Friday, November 11, 2022
at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Long and Bro. Mike Eaton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Herring Cemetery. Mrs. Steele died Monday, November 7, 2022 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 7, 1948, in Morgan County, to William Edward Livingston, Sr. and Mattie Ruth Attkisson Livingston. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hartselle, where she played the piano. She enjoyed shopping and fishing, and loved her family and friends and spending time with them. She was employed by Dr. Kevin Johnson’s office, in the billing department prior to her retirement. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Donnie Stewart Livingston. Survivors include husband, Olen Sam Steele; son, Heath Steele (Kristi); brother, Eddie Livingston (Brenda); sister-in-law, Lisa Livingston; grandchildren, Cole and Kiya Steele. Pallbearers were family members.
Linda Lee Turner

A memorial service for Linda Lee Turner, 68, was held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Turner died Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She was born December 20, 1953, in Morgan County, to Ed Turner and Louise Hunter Turner. She was a graduate of MCHS Class of 1972, a graduate of Massey Junior College in Atlanta, Georgia with a fashion degree and then graduated from
Calhoun Community College with a Nursing Degree. She retired from Falkville Healthcare and Rehab as a nurse, after 42 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include brother, James H. Turner (Brenda); nieces, Cory Ann France (David) and Rachel Rozelle; great nieces, Willow and Harley France; cousins, John F. Smith, Diane Kim Burns (Lynn), Jamie San (Chen) and Bryan Smith (Ashley); loving fur baby, Odie. Family requests no flowers please. Funeral service for Jimmy Leathers, 74, was held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Carroll and Bro. Mark Carroll officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Bell Springs Cemetery. Mr. Leathers died Monday, November 7, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Monday, October 18, 1948, in Cullman County, to Luther L. Leathers and Eary Screws Leathers. He was employed by Classic Panel as a truck driver, prior to his retirement. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include wife, Brenda Barber Leathers; sons, Bobby Hanner (Christy) and Mark Leathers (Sarah); daughter, Sonya Shackleford (Justin); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bobby Hanner, Jacob Knowles, Justin Shackleford, Mark Leathers, Ricky Barber and Justin Leathers.

Burial was in Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Hill died Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born April 12, 1931, in Morgan County to Edd Powell and Viola Foote Powell. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carmen DeButy and two sisters, Dorothy Coleman and Jerald Dean Hill. She served our Country In El Paso as a nurse in the Women’s Army Core during the Korean War. Mrs. Hill was an accountant broker with Curtis Powell & Hill Real Estate during her career. Survivors include grandson, Charlie DeButy (Lucy); sister, Maxine Curtis (Amon); great grandchildren, William Franklin DeButy, Jenny Ruth DeButy and Mariam Grace Debuty Pallbearers were friends and family.

Funeral Service for Bill Slate, 88, of Hartselle was held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Nicky Pressnell officiating with burial in the Hartselle Memory Gardens Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Mr. Slate, who was born September 28, 1934 in Morgan County to Henry Lebron Slate and Elizabeth Crutchfield Slate, died Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He owned and operated Slate and Son Custom Framing on Main Street Hartselle until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Martha B. Slate and a son, Sidney Lee Slate. Barry Goode, Bobby Bassham, Randy Summerford, Robbie Robinson, Jason Fields and Stephen Gibson served as pallbearers.
James D. Lee

Funeral service for James D. Lee, 84, was held Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Walter Blackman and Bro. John Dewayne Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery. Mr. Lee died Thursday, November 10, 2022. He was born June 29, 1938, in Morgan County, to John David Lee and Myrtie Irena (Hill) Lee. James was a graduate of Morgan County High School from the class of 1957. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear and was a member of the East Highland Baptist Church. He had a gift of never meeting a stranger and could talk as long as someone would listen. James loved his family and always worked hard to provide and support his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in whatever adventure or activity, they were a part of. “Daddy” or “Paw-paw” as he was called by many, could fix anything according to his family and he was always eager to help anyone in any way possible and always had a giving heart. He loved to hear good gospel singing and was passionate about coaching both his daughters in girls’ softball for many years. He enjoyed taking family vacations and after retirement, he and his wife of 54 years, enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending winters in Gulf Shores at campgrounds with their many friends that they had met before her passing in 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Frances Walker Lee and his parents. Survivors include daughters, Kathy Lee Summerford (Eric) and Rhonda Lee; eight grandchildren, April Jones (Frank, Jr.), James Barbre (Sarah), Chris Deason (Jana), Jackie Hyatt (Bart), Robert Summerford (Ally), Phillip Summerford, Anna Summerford and Laura Chism (Zach); fifteen great grandchildren; sister Ella Faye Daggett (Richard), St. Petersburg, Fla.; many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were James Barbre, Chris Deason, Braxton Jones, Grayson Jones, Phillip Deason, Reece Jones, Robert Summerford, Phillip Summerford and Trey Jones. Honorary Pallbearers were Mads Barbre, Joey Hyatt, Barry Hyatt, Colt Summerford, Stetson Summerford, Jack Summerford, Elliott Chism and Owen Chism. Funeral service for Dolores Williams Lott, 91, was held Monday, November 14, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Shaddix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was at Mount Hope Baptist Church Cemetery at Crane Hill in Cullman County. Dolores died peacefully at Hospice Family Care at Redstone Village Wednesday, November 9, 2022. She was born on November 18, 1930 in the Harmony Community in Cullman County to Verlon Aurice Williams and Nonnie Clayter Hudson Williams. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a member of First Baptist Church in Hartselle where, until recent years, she was a faithful member of the choir. She loved working in her yard, mowing, raking leaves and gardening. Her mission in life was to spread God’s love and joy to others wherever she went. Dolores enjoyed visiting in the nursing homes and with those who were homebound. It was important to her to leave them with a smile on their face. She loved to laugh and to make others laugh. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Dewel Coleman Lott; a brother, Donald Williams (June); a sister, Faye Williams Doss and three nephews. Survivors include one son, Stanley Dewel Lott (Patricia); two daughters, Karen Lott Vinzant (Keith), and Jennelle Lott Yancey (Don); two brothers, Ruben Maurice Williams (Shelba), and John Thomas “J.T.” Williams (Cheryl); four sisters, Carolyn Jo Williams Machtolff (Steve), Nonnie Diann Williams Ladd (Bart), Londa Ele Williams Pate (James “Jim”), and Flavin Williams Glover (Glenn); eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Nathan Lott, Matthew Vinzant, Stephen Yancey, Kevin Yancey, Patrick Crabtree, and Ashlee Chunn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Gideons International, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to The Caring Place. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Hospice Family Care at Redstone Village, and especially to nurses Debbie Meirck and Sandi Goode for their exceptional compassionate care.
Franklin Marshall Waddle

Franklin Marshall Waddle, 82, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022, at his son’s home. Mr. Waddle was born December 8, 1939, in Meade County, Kentucky to Frank and Rosie (Marshall) Waddle. He graduated in 1958 from Luce Township High School in Richland, Indiana. He then graduated from Evansville College in 1963 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he interned for the Department of the Navy in Crane, Indiana. He spent the rest of his career working for NASA and at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville while living in Decatur and Hartselle. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and being involved in church. He attended Fairview Baptist Church in Decatur and Bethel Baptist Church in Hartselle and Crossroads of Life Baptist Church in Canton, GA. He is survived by his children, James Waddle of Canton, Ga.; Wesley Waddle of Nashville, Tenn.; and Marsha Talley of Berlin, Germany; and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Arlene (Dawson) Waddle and son, John Waddle. A graveside service was held November 15, 2022 at 1 p.m. Arrangements are with Canton Funeral Home at Macedonia Memorial Park.
Ellen Adcock

Peck Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Ellen Holly Adcock, 63, of Hartselle. Mrs. Adcock passed away peacefully November 9, surrounded by her devoted husband, loving daughter and supportive sister. A native of Wisconsin and resident of Hartselle since 2005, she and her husband reside on several acres neighboring family. Mrs. Adcock spent her career working as an office manager and retired from the North Alabama Cat and Bird Vet Clinic. Mrs. Adcock had a generous heart of gold, a giving soul, a love for her family, animals, and all things homemade. She had a passion for crochet and made the most beautiful blankets for friends and family. She was known for having the green thumb in the family with her gorgeous flowers and gardens. She knew how to make a house a home. She welcomed twin grandsons in June and the joy they brought to her was unmatched. She carried with her a determination, grace, and positivity to endure trial treatments, infusions, radiation, and any medication her care team thought was possible as she fought her 3-year battle with cancer. Driven by immense faith and will to live, she fought for her life for the sake of her family. Proceeded in death by her parents, William and Doris Puhek. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 16 years, Ronnie Adcock; children, Chad Kuehn, Courtney (Mike) Cibulsky, Brandi (Shawn) Duncan, Danielle (Brian) Vines, and Jeremy (Ginger) Adcock. Mrs. Adcock also leaves behind a sister, MaryJo Nash, niece Ashley Gibson; nephew Nathan (Taylor) Howdon; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great nephew. The family is grateful for the care team of UAB Hospital and Hospice of the Valley. No services were planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
