Somerville woman arrested after threat made in Priceville

The woman who called in a threat Nov. 23 to the Family Dollar in Priceville’s Foodland Shopping Center was arrested for the act, according to Morgan County arrest records.

Lizzie Marie Ann Phillips, 43, of Somerville, “phoned 911 making a false … threat,” according to a Facebook post from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Phillips was booked in Morgan County Jail with bail set at $2,500. She was charged with making a terrorist threat.

Priceville mayor Sam Heflin said his understanding is that Phillips has personal issues and “we have no clue as to why she would make that call.”

He said Phillips was in police custody within about 20 minutes of the call being placed.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office joined Priceville police and fire departments in responding to the call initially.

The shopping center was evacuated, and the Huntsville Police Department Bomb Squad responded to sweep the building, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

“We appreciate Huntsville and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department for responding out to assist,” Heflin said. “It’s always great to be able to call on friends and neighbors for help.

“I’m glad our guys could deal with this quickly and professionally.”
