Lady Tigers win two at Wills Valley Shoot Out

FORT PAYNE — The Hartselle Lady Tigers (11-6) picked up two wins at the Wills Valley Shoot Out in Fort Payne. They defeated Anniston and Orange Beach after falling to Gadsden City to open the competition.

Hartselle 59, Orange Beach 39

The Lady Tigers capped off the event with a 59-39 win over Orange Beach. Hartselle led 34-19 at halftime.

Gracie Hill and Mary Itsede finished with 14 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Anna Hampton Burroughs added eight points, while Hannah Burks scored seven. Hill had six assists while Emma Roden added four steals.

Audra Bryce Collins finished with 13 points to lead Orange Beach.

Hartselle 56, Anniston 38

Hartselle broke open a three-point ballgame by outscoring Anniston 21-6 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 56-38 win.

Gracie Hill finished with 18 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Hannah Burks added 11 points and three steals. Mary Frances Itsede had four points and 10 rebounds.

TyKeria Smith scored 11 points to lead Anniston.

Gadsden City 40, Hartselle 24

The Lady Tigers fell 40-24 to 7A Gadsden City to open the Wills Valley Shoot Out. They trailed 30-12 at the half.

Mary Itsede finished with eight points and team rebounds to lead Hartselle. Hannah Burks added five points and five rebounds, while Anna Hampton Burroughs had five points. Emma Roden added six rebounds.
