Are you willing to tell people about Jesus?

Did you know Jesus once stopped a funeral? It happened in Luke 7. In this Bible happening, Jesus and His disciples and a large crowd were on their way to the city of Nain. Near the gates of the city, they came upon a funeral procession. The funeral was for a young man, the young man’s mother was also a widow and had lost everything. The Bible says that Jesus had compassion on her and went up to her. His words were surprising. He said, “do not weep” (7:13). Has this ever happened to you? Maybe you are going through a difficult time, and someone doesn’t quite understand what you’re going through. They think they are helping and give you some advice like Jesus said to this woman. Maybe they tell you to move on or things will get better or maybe even tell you to stop crying. Outside of this advice they don’t offer much more. It was well intentioned, but it didn’t help very much. The difference is that Jesus can do something about it. He loves us (John 3:16) and wants to help. In this story Jesus performs a miracle and brings the dead man back to life. When we are going through sorrows and difficulties Jesus says to lay those on Him (Matthew 11:28-30). What a blessing we have in a savior who wants to help and has the power to do that and will do that because He cares so much. Another blessing is that we have examples of Jesus loving and helping others that can let us know His promises are true. It’s up to us to tell others about the healing power of Jesus so the world can be healed from its sorrows as well. Are you willing to tell people about Jesus?
