Chamber holds awards gala, community awards

April 28, the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce held its 46th annual meeting and awards gala with 225 members in attendance. Presented by Hartselle Family Dentistry, the 1920s “Something Old, Something New” themed event was held at The Tabernacle Farm, with decorations being provided by downtown Hartselle’s Something Vintage.
Cerrowire president Stewart Smallwood was presented an award of recognition for his leadership and contributions to the HACC for his service as HACC board chairman for 2022-23. The Dr. Thomas M. Guyton Humanitarian Award was presented to Tresa McGhee for her involvement in community, church, work and family. Mike Tucker was recognized with the E.R. Roberts Business Award for his reputation of honesty and fair treatment of his customers. The Tommy Ed Roberts Civic Award, which recognizes someone that has shown great pride in their community, was presented to Staci Wells, while Nikki Talent was presented the English-Walker Ambassador of the Year Award for her exceptional service to the community and the HACC.
“The Annual Meeting and Awards Gala brought together the Hartselle community and its surrounding areas, showcasing a remarkable display of passion and support for local businesses.” Smallwood said. “It’s great to witness the dedication of so many individuals who are committed to the area’s prosperity, and it is why I enjoy this event each and every year.”
Hartselle First Assembly of God Pastor Jimmy Watson gave the invocation, followed by a presentation from the Downtown Hartselle Business League by The Something Blue Shoppe’s TJ Holmes. After the award ceremony, Smallwood gave remarks as the outgoing 2022-23 HACC Board of Directors Chairman before passing the gavel to incoming board chairman Maegan Jones.
“The 46th annual meeting of members provided a special evening to reflect on the successes of the Chamber as well as reward our community heroes. It was an extraordinary night showcasing the new Downtown Hartselle Business League’s progress and sharing the vision for the new Hartselle for Tomorrow foundation,” Chamber president Missy Evans said. “The membership of the Chamber seeks to advance the welfare of Hartselle and the surrounding area and Friday night was a celebration of the many outcomes their hard work has accomplished. We have strong board leadership that will stay focused on our priorities, make our Chamber strong and insulate it for the future. Hartselle is blessed by their service.”
