Priceville’s season ends in regional play
The Priceville Lady Bulldogs saw their record-breaking season end with an 8-3 loss to West Limestone in the 4A North Regional. However, the Lady Bulldogs finished with a school-record 40 wins, a regular-season area championship, and an area tournament championship.
Priceville 9, Westminster Christian 1
Priceville opened the 4A North Regional with a 9-1 victory over Westminster Christian. The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and cruised to the win.
Bentley Black had two hits, including a home run, and scored three runs to lead Priceville. Kirsten Segars and Wrozlie Barnett each added a hit and two RBI.
Maddie Black pitched a complete game to earn the win. She helped her cause with two hits and two RBI.
Curry 14, Priceville 3
Priceville to a 2-0 lead into the fifth inning before falling 14-3 to Curry. The Lady Yellow Jackets scored six in the fifth to take a 6-2 lead, then added two in the sixth and five in the seventh to seal the victory.
Bentley Black had a double and a run scored, while Katee King had a hit and an RBI. Segars added an RBI.
Elizabeth Murphy took the look after allowing five runs in 4.2 innings.
Priceville 3, Hamilton 1
With Priceville facing elimination, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Hamilton 3-1 to keep their playoff hopes alive. Maddie Black pitched a complete game to pick up the win. She allowed just one run on five hits.
Segars had two hits and an RBI, while Maddie Black added an RBI. Segars, Barnett and Darcy Thigpen each had a double.
West Limestone 8, Priceville 3
Priceville saw their playoff dreams end in an 8-3 loss to West Limestone. The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on for the win after the Lady Bulldogs cut the lead to 4-3 in the top of the fifth inning.
Bentley Black had two hits and two RBI to lead Priceville in her final game. King and Allie Denson also had a hit in the loss.
Murphy took the loss after allowing five runs (two earned) on three hits in four innings.
