Falkville FFA shines at 95th convention

It was a week of outstanding achievements for the Falkville FFA chapter as they took center stage at the 95th FFA Convention. With a string of individual, team and chapter recognitions, Falkville FFA has once again proven their dedication and excellence in agricultural pursuits.
The forestry team emerged triumphant, bringing home the state championship for yet another year. Cedric Beavers showcased his exceptional skills and secured the title of individual high scorer in the state contest. Not far behind, the land team displayed their prowess and clinched a commendable fourth place in the state rankings.
Celebrating the success of their members, Falkville FFA proudly announced Avery Bramlett’s remarkable achievement as he claimed first place in the state for his beef production proficiency. With this remarkable feat, Bramlett has earned the opportunity to advance to the Nationals. Meanwhile, Elijah Halbrooks made his mark by securing 2nd place in the State for his Beef Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency.
The dedication and hard work of the entire chapter did not go unnoticed, as Falkville FFA was recognized as a gold level chapter. This prestigious honor will now propel them to compete at the national level for the coveted national chapter award. Additionally, the Falkville chapter’s commitment to community service activities was acknowledged with fourth place in the state for the Building our Alabama Communities award.
Both Cedric Beavers and Avery Bramlett received their State FFA degrees, the highest accolade awarded by the state. These degrees serve as a testament to their unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions to the FFA program.
In other community news, the members of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church are excited to announce their upcoming Vacation Bible School, set to take place from July 24-28. Children aged 4 years through 6th grade are invited to join in the exploration of a world filled with concrete and cranes. With a focus on building their faith in Jesus, participants will engage in activities that inspire and educate.
Meanwhile, the Danville community is buzzing with anticipation as Martha’s Antiques and Variety Shop prepares to open its doors July 13. Located at 15 Neel School Road, this new establishment aims to captivate shoppers with a diverse array of antiques and unique items. The shop will welcome customers on Thursday-Saturday from noon until 5 p.m.
