Valla Ree Hodges Roberts

Valla Ree Hodges Roberts, a native of Limestone County and longtime resident of Hartselle, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 86. She was a Christian, a homemaker, and a member of Westview Church of Christ. Funeral service was in the Peck Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. Bill Hall and Lance Blackburn will be officiating. The burial was at Hartselle City Cemetery. Valla Ree was born on July 8, 1937, in Limestone County, Ala. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jimmy W. Roberts, daughter, Cindy Davidson (Dan) of Hartselle; sons, Jim Roberts of Hartselle; Kirk Roberts (Jamie) of Somerville; Kris Roberts (Devra) of Hartselle; sisters, Clara Brooks of Athens, Wanda Gilbert (Wade) of Athens; grandchildren, Emily Woodard (Brandon), Drew Davidson, Chase Pernatozzi, Judson Roberts, Addie David (Josh) and Ava Roberts; five great grandchildren, Kadence Woodard, Landon Woodard, Brooklyn Woodard, McKenna David and Everette David. A daughter preceded her in death, Jamie Lee Roberts. The family wishes to thank their Westview church family and Hospice of the Valley. Larry Wayne Locke, Jr.

Mr. Larry Wayne Locke, Jr. passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Decatur
Morgan Hospital. He was born June 15, 1965, in Cochise County, Ariz., to
Larry Wayne Locke, Sr. and Paulette Ann Trosolate Locke. He was employed in
the fast food industry as a General Manager, prior to his passing. His
parents preceded in death. Survivors include his wife Doris Locke of Decatur.
Lula Fowler
Hartselle
Funeral service for Lula Fowler, 83, will be Friday, July 14, 2023 at 1
p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck
Funeral Home directing. Burial was at the historic Somerville Cemetery. Mrs. Fowler died on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at her residence. She was born February 8, 1940, in Dallas County, to Curtis Lee and Rosa Lee Kizziah. She was a homemaker for her family and a wonderful wife and mother. Mrs. Fowler loved arts and crafts, singing, gardening and her flowers but she was a powerful prayer warrior and loved the Lord. She loved her kids and her grandbabies with all her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Fowler (Bradley Skalicky); son Donald Fowler; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ricky Fowler, Mark Smith, Austin Fowler, Brad Skalicky, Thomas Ray Keller and Sandy Smith.
Julie Ann Dutton
Danville
A graveside funeral service and interment for Julie Ann Dutton, 70, was held
Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 5 p.m. at Friendship South of Danville with Bro.
Dan Compton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No public
visitation was scheduled. Mrs. Dutton passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at her residence. She was born January 20, 1953, in Tennessee, to Roy Fletcher Farmer and
Margaret Louise Bailey Farmer.
She was employed with the Alabama Cooperative Extension Office as a 4-H and
office coordinator, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was a beloved mother and grandmother. Her parents preceded her in death.
Her family would like to say ‘thank you’ the Friendship Baptist Church for
all the love and support that was given to the family.
Survivors include her husband, Barry Keith Dutton; son Daniel K. Dutton; daughter Jennifer Pritchett (Robert); brothers Dennis Farmer (Lois Ann) and Duane Farmer (Sharon); sisters Linda Buckner (Randy) and Susan Arnold (Ricky); grandchildren Dallas Dutton, Levi Dutton and Juliana Pritchett. Pallbearers will be Robert Pritchett, Michael Buckner Brad Buckner and other
family and friends.
Mabelou Cook Turner

Funeral service for Mabelou Cook Turner, 83, was held Sunday, July 16, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Harmony Grove Church with Bro. Roger White and Bro. Eric Dabbs officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel. Mrs. Turner died on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at her residence. She was born February 13, 1940, in Morgan County, to William Elbert Bell and Lena Estelle Hall Bell. Mrs. Turner was a member of Harmony Grove Church, loved her family dearly and enjoyed Southern Gospel Music. She was a factory worker prior to her retirement.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Eroy Turner; brothers, Bubby Bell, Melvin Gaines, Oneal Gaines and sisters, Louise Shaneyfelt and Floraetta Kelly and her parents.
Survivors include her son, Barry Cook (Leisa); daughter, Marsha Hart (Gene); stepson, Ricky Cook; stepdaughters, Delane Gunn, Deloris Standridge (Larry), Donna Teichmiller and Diane Durcham; brother, Randy Gaines (Lisa); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Cook, Trenton Hart, Dalton Hart, Gene Hart, Randy Gaines and Kenta Brackins. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Hart and Canaan Cook.
