Tigers boys basketball hosts annual summer camp
Coach Faron Key and his Tigers’ boys basketball program recently hosted their annual summer basketball camp at Hartselle High School. More than 50 boys registered for camp.
“We love basketball camp in Hartselle and getting to know all the kids we can on a first-name basis,” Key said. “This camp is geared toward having fun while playing games.”
There were three sessions each day. Each session focused on various aspects of basketball, with coaches and high school players leading the sessions.
Each day’s first session focused on stretching and practicing offensive and defensive skill work. The campers were split into five stations focusing on passing, shooting, ballhandling, finishing and defense.
The second session was the “competition hou.” Campers competed in dribble tag, hot shots and free throw competitions.
The final session each day gave campers a chance to play 3-on-3, culminating in a Friday tournament.
“We strive to provide a fun experience for our kids,” Key said.
