Art scholarships available for area seniors
The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce is offering three $500 scholarships in conjunction with Depot Days. Any current high school senior student in Hartselle City or Morgan County Schools are eligible for the scholarships. The deadline for submitting scholarship applications is Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. Those students that are awarded the scholarships will be presented at their respective schools Senior Awards Program at the end of the 2023-24 academic year.
There are two categories of scholarships being offered, one Student Art Scholarship and two Volunteer Scholarships.
In addition to being required to be a senior in Hartselle City or Morgan County Schools, applicants of the Student Art Scholarship must also have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, volunteered at the 2023 Depot Days Festival and entered the 2023 Depot Days Art Contest, submit a completed application packet and must submit a digital portfolio of at least five works of art in Google Slides Microsoft Powerpoint to media@hartsellechamber.com
The Volunteer Scholarship criteria are graduating seniors of Hartselle CIty or Morgan County Schools, cumulative GPA of 2.5, volunteering for at least one two hour shift at the 2023 Depot Days Festival and timely submission of the scholarship application packet.
