Jossie Bell Morris
Hartselle
Funeral service for Jossie Bell Morris, 84, will be Friday, November 17,
2023 at 1:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness with Elder Bob Kyker
officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle
Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, November 17, 2023, from 11:00 AM
to 1:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Hartselle.
Mrs. Morris died on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
She was born May 15, 1939, in Morgan County, to Ollie Orr and Georgia Mae
Lundy Orr.
She was employed cleaning houses, prior to her retirement. Preceding her in
death were her husband, Ashton Morris, her parents, three brothers- Ruby
Orr, Johnny “Bubba” Orr and Jack Orr and three sisters- Ollie Mae Orr ,
Nettie Orr Sharpley and Lillie Orr.
Survivors include daughters April Morris and Wendy Morris Saponaro (Vincenzo); brothers Joe Henry Orr and Charles Orr (DeTamera).
Sarah Frances Flowers
Funeral service for Sarah Frances Flowers, 38, will be Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 1:30 PM at The Cowboy Church with Bro. Josh Sparkman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Flowers Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at The Cowboy Church.
Miss Flowers passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born April 9, 1985, in Morgan County, to Randy Glenn Flowers and Linda O’Brien Flowers.
She was “one of the best kids ever.” Sarah was employed as a cosmetologist at Mel Taylor Salon and was in Real Estate for 10 years, prior to her passing. She was loved by everyone who knew her and she loved people. She also loved to travel, loved the beach and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother Linda O’Brien Flowers; brother Buddy Flowers; sisters Sedama Johnson and Jana St. Clair. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Betty Payne Olson
Hartselle
A Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Betty Payne Olson, 87, will be
Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hartselle Memory Gardens with
Bro. Jimmy Legg and Bro. Jerry Chenault officiating and Peck Funeral Home
directing. No public visitation is scheduled.
Mrs. Olson died on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her residence. She was
born November 27, 1935, in Morgan County, to Earl Henry Payne and Ima Rachel
Childers Payne.
She was a graduate of Morgan County High School and was employed by the
Point Mallard Estates as the H.O.A. Manager for 27 years. She was a member
of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Olson passed away at her home after a
breif illness. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Preceding her in death were her husband and her parents.
Survivors include her sister Joyce Dobbs; son Johnny W. Olson (Sandra); daughters Lynn Shaneyfelt (Glenn) and Bettye A. Nicholson (Greg); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Clint Olson, Cain Olson, Tommy Hayes, Brad Shaneyfelt,
Cleeton Springer, Luke Hogan, Chase Russell and Colin Springer.
James Harold “Jim” Wright, Jr.
Decatur
Funeral service for James Harold “Jim” Wright, Jr., 79, will be Monday,
November 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at West Hartselle Baptist Church with Dr.
Edwin Hayes and Rev. Greg Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday,
November 20, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at West Hartselle Baptist Church.
Mr. Wright died on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was born June 27, 1944,
in Morgan County, to James Harold Wright, Sr. and Allie Mae Coffey Wright.
Mr. Wright was a member and Deacon of West Hartselle Baptist Church, where
he served as Minister of Music for 25 years before retiring. He also served
at First Baptist Church of Hartselle to be Interim Minister of Music and
also led the music for his Senior Adult Bible Study Group on Wednesdays. He
also upheld a 34-year career as a math teacher, Assistant Principal at
Crestline and of Hartselle Jr. High, before retiring from the Hartselle City
School System. Mr. Wright was a great storyteller, enjoyed hunting and loved
to eat. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His parents
preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Glenda W. Wright; sons Paul Wright (Kelli) Blake Wright (Whitney); sister Mary Frances “Cricket” Lewis; grandchildren Kylie Wright, Brayden Wright and Farrah Wright.
Pallbearers will be Paul Wright, Blake Wright, Brayden Wright, Jerry Lee,
Greg Williams, Chris Lake and Randy Chasteen.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class of West
Hartselle Baptist Church
In lieu of flowers, family wishes memorial donations be made to the Gideon’s
International.
Terry L. “TK” Kelly
FALKVILLE — Funeral service for Terry L. “TK” Kelly, 68, will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Aaron Dawson and Bro. Lynn Harvel officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be today, November 17, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Kelly passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at his residence. He was born February 14, 1955, in St.Clair County, to Bobby Joe Kelly and Maryann Sarah Muir Kelly. Mr. Kelly was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1974-1992. His service included a total of 18 years, in which he spent four years at Robins Air Force Base, 12 years in Minot Air Force Base and one year in Korea. He attended the Alabama Police Academy from August 21, 1995 and completed the training on October 9. 1995. He retired in April of 2021 from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department after starting his career as an Officer on April 14, of 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah R. Kelly; son, Robert Jason Cooper; daughters, Misty M. Kelly and Brandy L. Lyons (Michael); brothers, Charles Michael Kelly and Shaun Kelly; grandchildren, Jordan Blake Long, Zachery Michael Lyons and Haley Lyons; and one great-grandchild, Grayson Lyons.
The family wishes to say a “Special Thank You” to Hospice of the Valley and Decatur Morgan Home Care for their kind and compassionate care.
