Imelda C. Fisher
A graveside service for Imelda C. Fisher will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Decatur City Cemetery. Don Adair from Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church will be officiating. Peck Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Imelda C. Fisher of Hartselle passed away at Summerford Nursing Health and Rehab early Monday morning December 11, 2023 at the age of 68. She was born to Griffen Berchmans and Kathleen McCaughlin Chatham on December 13, 1954 in Jackson, Mississippi. She earned her Masters Degree in Education and retired from Hartselle City School. She loved teaching and was an educator for 37 years before retiring. She loved to write poetry, write children’s books and kept a captive audience with her students. Imelda took guitar lessons and loved learning to play. She adored her little dog “Chili”
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Francis “Frank” Joseph Chatham.
Survivors include her son, Josh Fisher and sister, Angela Norris.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
Phillip Edward Wright
Phillip Edward Wright, 58, of Huntsville, died on December 7, 2023. Mr. Wright was born on March 24, 1965, in Hartselle, Alabama to Phillip Wright and Betty Burnet. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Peck Funeral Home. Phillip was a loving husband and he’s been a hard worker all his life. He was preceded in death by his sister Judy Harmon, brother James Lindley, and his father Phillip Wright.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Wright; three sons Guy Wayne Buchanan, Marcus Fletcher, and Kenyon Moore; five brothers Billy Lindley, Boyce Lindley, Donnie Lindley, David Lindle and Paul Lindley; one sister Gail Duncan
Dolores Ann Spurlin Jennings

A visitation for Dolores Ann Spurlin Jennings will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Peck Funeral Home from 11:00 to 1:00 PM with the funeral service following at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will be at Valhermoso Springs Cemetery. Brother Ralph Henderson will be officiating. Peck Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Ms. Jennings of Lacey’s Spring passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital at the age of 83. She was born in Marshall County, Alabama on January 30, 1940 to Amon A. and Alice Edwards Spurlin. She worked at Parker Hanifan as a plant worker for 30 plus years prior to retiring. Dolores was a very hard worker physically, mentally and spiritually. She went above and beyond for her children and others. She enjoyed reading, doing sudoku and crossword puzzles. She loved to laugh and was devoted, dedicated and loyal to her family. She was dearly loved and will be terribly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Tanya Alexander and multiple siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Anna Bentley (Jeff); two brothers, Steve Spurlin and Lawrence Spurlin; sister, Janice Jennings; five grandchildren Bradley Alexander, Laura Alexander, Jason Alexander, Matthew Turner and William Turner.
Pallbearers will be Flint Jennings, Tracy Hughes, William Turner, Brandon Primeau, Kevin Primeau and Cody Spurlin.
John Cathers “John Boy”

John Cathers died on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Athens Limestone Hospital. He was born November 30, 1980, in Morgan County to John Daniel Cathers, Sr. and Lydia Byrd Cathers.
John, also known as “John Boy,” was a painter for Fredericks Outdoors.
No services will be held at this time.
Survivors include his father John Daniel Cathers, Sr.; mother Lydia Byrd Cathers; brother Christopher Cathers and Aunt Cindy Cone.
Peck Funeral Home assisted the family.
Henry Erwin “Bud” Gibson
Hartselle
Funeral service for Henry Erwin “Bud” Gibson, 84, will be Saturday, December
16, 2023, at 12:00 PM at New Center Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Bates and
Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial
will be in New Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, December 16,
2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Center Baptist Church.
He was born Wednesday, July 12, 1939, in Marshall County, to Howard Speake
Gibson and Lorene Welhelama Fischer Gibson.
Henry “Bud” Gibson, earned his wings in heaven on December 12, 2023. He
passed away at UAB hospital surrounded by his family. He was a wonderful
husband of almost 64 years, an awesome father and father-in-law, and a very
caring and patient grandfather. He was a very hardworking man enjoying
building, carpentry, building cars and showing them, loved gardening and
tending his farm. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School, class of
1957 and attended Auburn University for two years for Engineering.
Bud loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren and they were the
most important things in his life and would drop everything to help them at
anytime.
He was employed by Chemstand/ Monsanto for about seven years, Fruehauf for about
18-months and finally at BP/Amoco as a Plant’s shift superintendent for 33
years after which he retired. He was then re-hired as a contracted
consultant, overseeing the plants’ new projects both in Chicago for one
year, Cleveland, Ohio for one year and overseas in Malaysia for two years.
He worked up until he was 75 years old and then retired for good. He
was a wonderful Christian man and a friend to many. He will be missed by all
who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Theodore “Ted” Gibson
and his wife Eleanor and his in laws; James and Mildred Newton.
He left behind is wife of almost 64 years Maxine Newton Gibson; three sons
James “Jimbo” Gibson (Kandy), Lee Gibson (Felecia) and Michael “Mike”
Gibson (Ryan); Brother Howard Gibson (Gaye); grandchildren Brandon
Gibson, Colton Gibson (girlfriend Abby Cole), Alice Gibson Mace (Tim) and
Jonathan Gibson; one cousin Harvey Fischer (Betty).
Pallbearers will be Robert Hopper, Jeff “Smitty” Smithson, Mickey Brummett,
Michael Halbrooks, John Stinson and Mike Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Boyer, Bill Odell, Floyd Adams, Vince
Lamberti, Jerry Putman, Chuck Ray, Jon Miller and Marvin Nuby, Jr.
The Gibson family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at UAB
(CICU) and Cullman Regional ER, for the wonderful treatment he received
while in their care. Also want to thank Dr. Rodney Harney, his personal
friend and physician, for all his care and friendship through the years.
Wanda Faye Haley
Funeral service for Wanda Faye Haley, 82 of Hartselle will be Friday, December 15, 2023, at 1:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Milwee officiating with burial in the Cheatham Cemetery at Wren with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Haley, who was born February 15, 1941, in Lawrence County to Irvin Barrett and Irene Alexander Barrett, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at her home. She was a wonderful homemaker, loved to cook and spend time with her family. She always enjoyed going to family events and to her grandchildren’s ballgames.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s, Foy Hall and Freddy Haley, her son; Bobby Ray Hall and her brother; Billy Barrett.
Survivors include:
Two sons Marshall Hall and Mark Hall (Tracy); one daughter: Tammy Bonsall (Jeff); two stepsons David Haley (Teresa) and Darryl Haley; eight grandchildren Moranda Hollis, Brianna Bigbee, Courtney West, Mallory Johnson, Stone Reparsky, Hannah Morgan, Blake Bonsall and Chance Bonsall; eight great-grandchildren.
Justin West, Micah Johnson, Blake Bonsall, Ben Hollis, Bryson Hollis and Cole Bigbee will serve as pallbearers.
Carl T. “Bug” Bradley Jr.
Somerville
Funeral service for Carl T. “Bug” Bradley Jr. age 78 of Somerville will be Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 3:00pm at Peck Funeral Chapel with Brother Daniel Couch officiating with burial in the Mt. Tabor cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bradley, who was born March 2, 1945, in Louisiana to Carl T. Bradley Sr. and Clistie Abner Bradley, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Crestwood Medical Center. He was a very loving man and loved his family with a passion. He loved any kind of racing and enjoyed going to Moulton Speedway and Jake’s Dragstrip. He had been employed by Gulf States Roofing in Cullman prior to his disability. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Katie Cockrell.
Survivors Include his wife of 53 years Diane Bradley; son Shane Bradley (Tessa); daughter Cindy Dingler (Jeff); three brothers Ricky Bradley (Donna), Charlie Bradley (Robin) and Lee Bradley; three sisters Kathy Spry, Teresa Bates and Virginia “Sissy” Bradley; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Keith Bradley, Kevin Bradley, Derick Spry, Hunter Brown, Cohen Hill, Jody Cockrell, and Nicky Romero will serve as pallbearers.
Thanks to all the family, friends and the staff of Crestwood Hospital that helped with this journey.
Cathy Grigsby Roden

Funeral Service for Cathy Grigsby Roden, 66 of Hartselle will be Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Stanley Reeves officiating with burial in the New Center Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. She was born December 20, 1956, in Morgan County to Gladys Grigsby and Doris Evelyn Maddox Grigsby. She passed away Saturday, December 16 at her residence. Cathy was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Roden, parents, sister Pat Martin, three brothers, Erskine Grigsby, Phillip Grigsby and Jerry Cleek. She really loved helping others, and was close to the Lord
Survivors include two sons Kenny Roden and Wayne Roden Jr.; five daughters Yvette Barbee, Yvonne Roden, Gabrielle Marsh, Teri Stewart (Brandon) and Jessica West ;15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Olan Kilpatric, Daniel Kilpatric, Rodney Wright, Brandon Stewart, Mark Cleek and Noah Dupree.
