No garbage pickup in Hartselle this week due to road conditions, mayor says

Hazardous road conditions are continuing to impact garbage routes in Hartselle and waste will not be picked up this week according to Mayor Randy Garrison.
“Unfortunately, conditions have not improved to the point that it would be safe to place trash, garbage (and) recycle trucks on routes to empty your bins and collect your garbage and recycling,” he said. Garrison said the decision was made for the safety of city employees and others on the road.
“We cannot take the chance of injuring someone by having these large vehicles on the streets (and) roads in the condition they are in currently,” he added. To help with this week’s weather-related delays, Garrison encouraged citizens to use both green yard waste bins and brown garbage bind until routes can run on regularly schedules days next week. “If you were scheduled for recycle pickup this week, please put your blue bin out Monday and it will be picked up as soon as possible during the week,” Garrison added.Due to the weather-related changes this week there will not be any yard waste pickup next week. For questions, call Hartselle Public Works at 256-773-2643.
