Seth Parker named the new head coach of Priceville football
Seth Parker has been named the new head coach of the Priceville Bulldogs’ football program. The Morgan County Board of Education approved his hiring at last Thursday’s meeting.
“I’m very excited and blessed to be named the head football coach at Priceville,” Parker said. “Not only to be at such a great school, but I am also thrilled to be at a place with so much community support for its athletic programs.”
Priceville principal Shane Hopkins said he received more than 50 applications and interviewed nine applicants. He felt that Parker checked every box in what he was looking for in the Bulldogs’ next head coach.
“After interviewing him and talking to those who have worked with him, it was obvious he has an extremely high football IQ and a person of great character,” Hopkins said. “He brings lots of enthusiasm and energy to help build upon the success and culture our previous coaches have established.”
Parker comes to Priceville from Bob Jones, where he served as the Patriots’ offensive coordinator for the last three seasons. Before his time as the OC, Parker coached wide receivers for the Patriots.
Parker replaces Chris Foster, who won a school-record 40 games and led Priceville to the playoffs four times, as well as the Bulldogs’ first 10-win season in 2021 and their first undefeated season in 2022.
“Priceville Football has had a ton of success over the last few years, and I am very thankful for the foundation laid by Coach Foster and his staff,” Parker said. “My goal is to continue to build on that standard so that we continue to put a quality football team on the field.”
Parker is a Bob Jones graduate and is married to his high school sweetheart, Sutton. They have an 8-month-old daughter, Cooper.
Priceville will move up to Class 5A next season after spending the last 18 seasons in 4A. The Bulldogs will renew some rivalries in Parker’s first season as they will face Brewer and West Morgan in non-region games.
