Priceville, Danville, Falkville pick up wins
Danville, Falkville and Priceville picked up wins in the season’s second week. Danville’s win was the first for first-year coach Garrett Wade.
Priceville 4, Arab 3
Priceville scored two runs in the seventh inning to rally for a 4-3 win over Arab. A Tyde Borden RBI double tied the game and Thomas Ferguson scored the game-winning run with a steal of home.
Borden finished with two hits and an RBI, while Kane Dunn had a hit and two RBI. Borden earned with 1.2 innings of relief, allowing one hit while striking out four.
Priceville 11, Randolph 1
Priceville picked up a run-rule victory over Randolph last Monday. Ferguson pitched 3 1/3 innings to get the win, allowing one hit while striking out five.
Colman Gann had three RBI, while Wes Walker, Jake England and Jaidan Gordon added two RBI each.
Arab 6, Priceville 4
The Bulldogs came up short in a 6-4 loss to Arab last Monday. Priceville had the game-tying run on base while the final out was recorded.
Gordon had a double and an RBI, while England, Borden, and Jake Hamilton each had an RBI.
Danville 18, East Lawrence 9
Coach Garrett Wade earned his first victory when his Hawks defeated East Lawrence 18-9 last Tuesday. Kason Jeffreys led Danville with a double and five RBI. Eli Coker finished with three hits and three RBI, while Cody Barber added three hits and two RBI.
Good Hope 4, Danville 2
The Hawks fell 4-2 to Good Hope last Thursday. Reece Cowart finished with a hit and an RBI, while Jeffreys had an RBI.
Falkville 10, Clements 9
Falkville held off Clement’s rally for a 10-9 win last Friday. Bryant Owens finished with three hits, including a two-run home run and four RBI to lead the Blue Devils.
Dawson Fowler had three hits, while Sawyer Reynolds added two hits and two RBI. Owen Teague picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief. He struck out four.
Fairview 11, Brewer 3
Brewer fell 11-3 to Fairview last Thursday. Cole Drinkard led Brewer with a hit and two RBI.
Brayden Murphy, Logan Powers and Chase Smith each had two hits in the loss.
West Morgan 8, Brewer 5
Brewer lost 8-5 to West Morgan in a game last Tuesday. Marc Rychetsky finished with a hit and two RBI, while Smith and Russell Mahan each had a hit and an RBI.
