Incumbent Dobbs loses to Halbrooks in race for Morgan BOE seat

Longtime Morgan County school board member Jimmy Dobbs lost his District 5 seat Tuesday to challenger Geoff Halbrooks, according to the unofficial tally of the Tuesday primaries.

There is no Democratic candidate in the race.

Dobbs, 68, has held his seat for 20 years. He was challenged by 60-year-old Halbrooks, the general manager of Hartselle’s Peck Funeral Home.
